1. General

What is your family situation: 1 or 2 person house hold, children, grandchildren, persons with special needs, pets etc

What elements would you like in the garden:

  • lounge terrace (use existing furniture, or buy new)

  • dining terrace (use existing furniture or buy new)

  • lawn (real grass or artificial grass)

  • outdoor kitchen (what kind of BBQ, pizza oven, hot and cold water, fridge)

  • veranda, bike shed or pergola

  • child-friendly (playing field, sports field, play elements)

  • vegetable garden (what would you like to grow)

  • storage (bicycles, furniture cushions, garden tools)

  • swimming pool

  • spa (hot tub, whirlpool, sauna)

  • water feature (pond, wadi)

  • gym

  • support biodiversity (birds, insects, other fauna)

  • is it important to you that your garden is climate resistant?

Specific hobbies to consider (e.g. bird watching, yoga)

Is the garden used for hosting guests? If so, how many people usually?

would you like space for children or pets? If so, what are their specific needs?

Do you have a theme or style in mind? (e.g., modern, cottage garden, Japanese, Mediterranean)

What flower colors do you like, and which colors do you prefer not to include in your garden?

Are there specific plants or flowers you’d like to have in your garden?

Are there any trees or plants with special or symbolic meaning to you?

How much time can you dedicate to garden maintenance? (e.g., a lot, moderate, minimal maintenance)

Who will handle the maintenance? (yourself and/or a professional gardener)

4.⁠Current situation

Are there existing elements you’d like to keep? (e.g., trees, terraces, ponds, fences)

Are there specific problem areas? (e.g., poor drainage, heavy shade, wind exposure)

Are there areas in the garden where you’d like more privacy?

Do you know the type of soil in your garden? (e.g., sandy, clay, loam)

Are there factors to consider, such as strong winds, heavy rainfall, or prolonged drought?

Are there boundaries with neighbors or shared spaces to consider?

Do you have plans or layouts for the property, including the ground floor, and front, back, and side views of the house?
